Sister

As your life is to you

like a small bird resting

in the hand of God,

it is well.

As you contemplate things

past and future

resting quietly in light,

it is well.

Laying your offering

of your life and your soul

at the feet of the one truth.

It is well.

Forgetting what lies behind

and straining forward to what lies ahead

pressing on to the goal and knowing,

it is well, it is well, with my soul.
